Slovakia: Body Art Show 2025

Art, Charity, and the Launch of the Bodypainting Calendar. On Thursday, February 20th, the unforgettable Body Art Show took place at the Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava. This extraordinary event combined the beauty of body painting with a charitable purpose. A highlight of the evening was the official launch of an exceptional bodypainting calendar created by renowned artist Marta Gejdošová. A multiple-time Slovak Bodypainting Champion and member of the WBA. + The evening was hosted by the popular actor Dušan Cinkota, who guided the audience through the entire program. A team of talented artists worked tirelessly from the early morning hours to bring the models to life with their incredible body art. The team included Ján Xavier Melišek, Mária Behilová, Veronika Olahová, Valéria Černušková, and skilled students from the SOŠ Beauty Services School: Lea Garajová, Adelina Poltorapavlová, Lívia Mišovcová, and Ema Kovačovská. The most emotional moment of the night was undoubtedly the official launch of the calendar. Marta Gejdošová and Dr. Alena Kalayová shared personal experiences with cancer, deeply moving everyone in attendance. The honor of being the calendar’s godfather went to Juraj Lelkeš, who introduced the calendar to the world and emphasized the importance of prevention and solidarity. Once again, Body Art Show 2025 proved that art can be not only visually mesmerizing but also a powerful tool for spreading meaningful messages. The evening, filled with color, emotion, and talent, left a lasting impression on all attendees and reinforced the idea that beauty and charity can go hand in hand. The seventh edition of the event once again proved to be a unique blend of art and charity, with proceeds donated to the Ružová Stužka organization, which focuses on breast cancer prevention. This noble cause attracted numerous well-known figures from Slovak show business and the cultural scene, who came together to support the initiative. Attendees had the chance to witness stunning works of art brought to life on the bodies of the models. Beyond visual artistry, the show also featured captivating music and dance performances. The energy of the evening was amplified by dancers from the Dazya Dance Group, led by Daška Nemcová, as well as musicians from the Stano Lauro Band. One of the most emotionally charged moments of the night was a live painting session by Marta Gejdošová, performed during singer Martin Harich’s musical act, adding yet another dimension to the event. + Event Dates: 20.02.2025 Location: Park Inn by Radisson Danube Bratislava Organizer: SHARMANT s.r.o. Deviant perspective, Switzerland My name is Marc von Allmen, I’m a Photografer and bodypainter. My projects are predominantly in the abstract, expressionist style. Bodypainting for me is something quite different than painting on paper or on a canvas. A body lives, a picture painted on it can change its validity with every movement. It lives, it speaks, it tells a story. It is about unfolding all emotions in the inner space, blossoming and being changed. What you finally see is different to everyone, so everyone experiences their own story, in an incredible way. That's my job, my way of speaking. A Rose for Venice

Blog by Alex Barendregt: "So, there it is - A Rose for Venice, captured by national media in Italy, and as I was on site, captured also from my side. But let me tell you first. So we have been celebrating bodypainting and installation artist Elena and Mattia's wedding the day before and the weather forecast didn't look good, in fact, on the day of this amazing art project the weather was shit as hell. I didn't expect that this can even happen. Packed with our gear, soaked wet from head to toe, Anna and I got finally to the square San Marco.
Rain was pouring, hundreds of volunteers waiting under the arches but still very optimistic that Elena can pull it off.
Check it out, turn up the volume to get the mood.

+++ Official press release +++ Artist Elena Tagliapietra reimagines “The Feast of the ROSE” in one of the worlds most famous landmarks, the “Piazza San Marco”, on the 25th of April, with a massive art performance creating an iconic image. The writer Alberto Toso Fei tells the ultra millennial story behind this tradition.
Venice, a city famous for its secrets, has a tradition older than Valentine’s Day, and older and more tragic than the story of Romeo and Juliet.
The festival marks the anniversary of the tragic story of young love gone wrong, from when the daughter of a nobleman fell in love with a soldier of poor fortune. The romance ended in the death of both youths, the last gesture of the young man having been offering her a rose.
Every April 25th for nearly 1200 years, the men of Venice have honoured the women in their lives by giving them a rose. The Festa del Bocolo, the Festival of the Rose, is one of the oldest and best kept secrets of the romantic city of Venice.
This year, the artist Elena Tagliapietra brought hundreds of local Venetians and a few handpicked international romantic travellers, to battle against the weather to create a massive rose from living people in the centre of the Piazza san Marco. This giant rose which she has called “A Rose for Venice” was a live performance for the people of Venice, accompanied by a spoken word poem by the writer Alberto Toso Fei. Official event of the Municipality of Venice, with the production of the Centro Teatro Attivo Srt, these artists will create an unforgettable experience that will live on in photos and in the memories of Venices citizens as a reawakening of their ancient passions.
The installation was a performance of modern art taking its roots in the love of this magical city. And just as love can conquer all obstacles, art can be created in all weather. +++ Video & Edit by Alex Barendregt WB Production / Purple Shift Studio
