Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to a beloved and very special member of our bodypainting family in March.

The WBF community mourns the loss of a cherished friend. The sudden onset of Julie's illness has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and colleagues.

Julie Oliver not only left lasting impressions in the world of magic and illusion but also supported the World Bodypainting Festival alongside her companion Claire Pick. As the founder and editor-in-chief of Illusion Magazine, Julie knew no bounds in her passion for the enchanting art of illusion.

Initially self-published, the inaugural issue of her Illusion Magazine was an immediate success, creating fantastic designs and introducing new talent to a broader audience. The magazine was published quarterly, offering a mix of beginner step-by-step tutorials, professional techniques, and artist interviews. This blend positioned her magazine as a significant publication within the entire industry.

Julie Oliver's spirit was unwavering, and her legacy will continue to inspire the world.

Our sincere condolences go out to her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

The WBF Online Awards take place 2024 2 weeks earlier from the LIVE Awards, giving artists more time to work on their footage of the Hotspots. So we can offer you an even better LIVE show with the content from the Online Awards during the winners presentation.

16 - 19 June 2023: We invite artist teams (artist, model, assistant) to visit Hvar with us and to paint and be creative together at an ARTIST JAM on the Croatian coast!

Hvar: one of the most beautiful islands in the Croatia!

• Natural beauty combined with rich cultural heritage of historical significance.
• Mild climate and immaculately clean, crystal clear blue sea.
• Varied and irresistible gastronomic offer and nightlife for everyone.

These are just a few of the reasons why a trip to Hvar is sure to pay off! And from 16 - 19 June 2023 even more!

We invite 6 -7 artist teams (artist, model, assistant) to visit Hvar with us and to paint and be creative together at an ARTIST JAM on the Croatian coast!

We will take care of accommodation, catering and an allowance for travel expenses as well as we provide workplaces on 17 & 18 June to make Hvar even more colourful. We also have a professional photo team on site and each artist will also be provided with photo material afterwards.

Let's bring the art of Bodypainting to life together on the Adriatic coast in Hvar.

Last weekend there was a big Italian Get together of artists in the town San Pietro in Casale near Bologna. The painting jam session was organized by artist Piera di Maio, she did an amazing job to gather allthis wonderful talents. Piera invited the WBA Chairman Alex Barendregt with Artist Manager Anna as a special surprize for the jam session participants and we were very warm welcomed. On that day we have seen 30 artists and models. Together with a hand full of great photographers they captured some world class artworks and after an exhausting and exciting day, everyone sat together for dinner, drinks and fun talks with a lot of laughter. We were honoured and happy to be a part of such an amazing group and enjoy talks about the stunning art they all created as well as about the future Championship at the WBF 2023. Thank you very much for the wonderful day!
